The Department - Network

It all starts with a network of good rest and recharge locations – and the driving force of Milence is our network team, a collective of passionate professionals. Within regionally led teams our Location Acquisition Managers identify the best possible locations to build and expand our network and close commercial agreements. Our Deployment Managers are involved from the start to ensure effective roll-out and expansion plan for our sites. Our Specialists offer technological expertise, ensure operational efficiency and make deployment processes seamless as we build more sites. The Health, Safety, Security, Environment & Quality Managers establish and implement strategic HSSEQ objectives providing a safe and sustainable environment throughout our network.

The Job

As Tender Manager, you will be responsible for managing, supporting and producing creative, strategic, solution and commercial bid proposals required for the Milence network rollout strategy. In this role, you will build a strong real estate portfolio and will work closely with all Milence departments, connecting the various fields of expertise, while focusing on quality and monitoring deadlines.

You work with the regional Network teams on a day-to-day basis, leading all bidding activities in all European countries that Milence is operating in. In the role of Tender Manager you report directly to the Mission Control lead, who is responsible for the centralized network planning, development strategy and support.

Your responsibilities are

  • Identifying tender calls in multiple European countries and making strategic, data-driven decisions on which tenders to actively participate in.
  • Bringing together Network Development, Partnership & Commercial teams to build a well-functioning bid-team, while coordinating all stakeholders.
  • Managing internal and external deadlines, accounting for concession requirements and internal decision processes.
  • Developing a generic tender process establishing standards for the company, focusing on continuous improvement. Reviewing all submission documentation, creating and sharing best practices on quality tender process & structure across Milence.
  • Ensuring the commercial and technical solution offered by Milence translates the key success criteria of the tender specifications, into tailored, bespoke, innovative and evidence-based responses in line with bid specifications.
  • Showcasing Milence expertise and establishing thought leadership on electric heavy-duty vehicle charging.
  • Managing the end-to-end tender process and seamless handover of successful bids to operational teams. Extract key information from tender and manage information in-line with information management processes and following internal feedback analysis processes.
  • In between bids, proactively offering support to the Network team, sharing knowledge and expertise gained throughout the tender process.
  • Program management on non-real estate related tenders, such as local subsidy programs, with focus on the e-mobility and transport sector.

Job requirements


What we are looking for

  • The ideal candidate brings at least 5 years of experience in tender project management related position, preferably with a real estate or e-Mobility focus.
  • Ability to successfully manage multiple tender submissions concurrently, across multiple European countries. You are analytical and have a strong proven track record in tender project management.
  • Previous experience with CRM tools, Power BI, Project Management tools and new technologies and methodologies relevant to tender project management.
  • You are progressive, reliable and have a can-do mentality. You are interested in the market developments for e-mobility, transport and real estate and convert these into the Milence tender strategy, improvements or innovations which contribute to better business performance.
  • You are fast-paced and thrive in an environment where not all responsibilities are set in stone yet, you identify opportunities and are not afraid to take ownership of unallocated responsibilities.
  • You are solution oriented. As a start-up/scale-up we encounter challenges on a regular basis. You appreciate the opportunities that comes with this and can get progressive solutions in place that are both fast-paced and sustainable.
  • You have great communication skills, are approachable and are trustworthy. You’re involved in the joint goals and ambitions we have and offer a helping hand to your co-workers, making you a real team player.
  • You are fluent in English and either French or German would be a bonus.
  • Bachelors level Degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or equivalent relevant working experience
