Billing Specialist

As an experienced Billing Specialist at Milence, you will be responsible for building, implementing, and maintaining future-proof billing and collections processes across all 30+ Milence entities in Europe. This role is critical in ensuring correct and efficient sales invoicing and collection for our diverse operations.

In this role, you will own and continuously improve our Lead-to-Cash process, working closely with the Commercial, Billing, and IT teams, as well as external partners. Your focus will be on making this process customer-friendly, efficient, fit-for-purpose, and future-proof. You will also be responsible for reviewing and verifying billing data, improving systems supporting Cash and Accounts Receivable processes, and enhancing control over these processes.

Additionally, you will lead billing and collections operations, including timely invoicing, collection activities, and bank statement reconciliations. Your role will involve resolving payment discrepancies, supporting treasury operations like liquidity management and cashflow forecasting, and identifying areas for continuous improvement.

In this role, you’ll be reporting into Naila Santander, Senior Financial Manager.

You will be responsible for:

• Owning and enhancing the Lead-to-Cash process, collaborating with internal teams and external partners to ensure it is customer-friendly, efficient, and future-proof.
• Reviewing and verifying billing data for accuracy and completeness.
• Continuously identifying areas for improvement and implementing enhancements across all regions and entities.
• Improving systems supporting Cash and Accounts Receivable processes.
• Enhancing control over Cash & Accounts Receivable processes by introducing or improving existing controls.
• Managing billing & collections operations, including invoicing, collection activities, and bank reconciliations.
• Resolving payment discrepancies and disputes with customers promptly.
• Supporting treasury operations such as liquidity management, inter-company financing, and cashflow forecasting.

What we are looking for:

• A Degree in Finance, Economics or similar or equivalent working experience
• At least 5 years of experience in billing, collections, or a related field, with a strong understanding of billing processes and accounting.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central ERP (or Navision) is required; experience with Longship is a plus.
• Strong data analysis and process improvement capabilities.
• Strong communication skills and fluency in English; another European language is advantageous.
• Conceptual thinking, analytical skills, and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
• Experience in roaming - like in e-mobility, telecom, or similar company and or industry is required.
• Experience with IFRS is a plus.
