The Department

Reliability is the cornerstone of accelerating the shift to electric transportation. Only by being extremely reliable can we guarantee seamless charging at Milence. The collaboration among our teams foster cross-functional synergy, ensuring we provide of the best rest and recharge experience.

Our Technology specialists focus on R&D, charging, energy storage, and (cyber)security. The Digital Factory is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of digital products and services, ensuring their alignment with the latest technological advancements. Our Data experts ensure data quality, governance, insights, analytics and reporting. They facilitate charging sessions, network planning, and real-time reservations. Network Operations is the central hub of on-site operations, monitoring site activity and maintenance. Asset Management, supported by site engineers, is responsible for pro-active maintenance and investment decisions. They manage the assets of charging infrastructure, security solutions, power distribution, and facilities.


The Job

As the technical expert on power distribution and assets, the role is responsible for supporting the development of the next generation of power distribution concepts that optimize the way energy is used and distributed in the Milence sites. This includes:

  • Technical ownership of the next generation power assets of Milence, including substation automation, new distribution concepts, onsite power generation and energy storage.
  • Provide technical specification and component options in line with the Milence requirements and grid codes .
  • Support the supplier selection process and lead the product (factory) acceptance process to ensure quality, technical performance and compliance to the Milence schedule of requirements.
  • Lead the integration process of the assets and solution to the Milence OT and IT ecosystems.
  • Support the asset management and deployment teams with the integration of the solution into the detailed engineering designs of the sites.
  • Support the continuous quality improvement process by tracking system performance data & energy modelling to identify areas for optimization and efficiency improvements in solar and BESS installations.
  • Collaborate with the technology cross-functional team to offer holistic solutions that align with the company’s sustainability and business objectives.

The job will be based in our Amsterdam and/or Arnhem office.

Job requirements

Who are we looking for?

  • Masters in Sustainable Energy Technology or Power Electronics or Electrical Engineering, with at least Electrical Engineering bachelor’s degree.
  • 5 years of experience in substation and MV/LV distribution network design in the area of renewable projects, including system design, supplier selection and project commissioning.
  • Detailed knowledge of AC and DC power distribution and generation assets, including protection and control
  • Experience with electrical simulations tools like PSCAD, Powerfactory, and/or Vision.
  • Preferably, you have experience with deployment of BESS and solar PV (power asset) projects; grid connection request and compliance process and e-mobility deployment projects.
  • Your English is excellent; any additional European language is advantageous.

We offer a comprehensive remuneration package; with on target annual incentive is 20% - with a maximum of 40%. In addition to this, a mobility allowance/ lease car is part of the package.
