The Department

Reliability is the cornerstone of accelerating the shift to electric transportation. Only by being extremely reliable can we guarantee seamless charging at Milence. The collaboration among our teams foster cross-functional synergy, ensuring we provide of the best rest and recharge experience.

Our Technology specialists focus on R&D, charging, energy storage, and (cyber)security. The Digital Factory is responsible for managing the entire lifecycle of digital products and services, ensuring their alignment with the latest technological advancements. Our Data experts ensure data quality, governance, insights, analytics and reporting. They facilitate charging sessions, network planning, and real-time reservations. Network Operations is the central hub of on-site operations, monitoring site activity and maintenance. Asset Management, supported by site engineers, is responsible for pro-active maintenance and investment decisions. They manage the assets of charging infrastructure, security solutions, power distribution, and facilities.

The Job

As Product Specialist – Charging technology, you will be the DC charging expert of Milence. You will ensure that the charging solutions we use and develop are the right ones. Working closely with both internal and external stakeholders, you will lead the definition and onboarding of the chargers we use at Milence, always keeping an eye out for market trends and developments to anticipate to.

You should be familiar with charger – vehicle communications as well as charger – backend connections and corresponding protocols. You are keen to details and quality assurance but keep the big picture in sight. Having knowledge and experience with data communications is a pre and will be highly appreciated.

In addition, you will:

• Lead the development of charging technology and charging interoperability for our charging solutions
• Monitor the quality of suppliers and their products and make sure we create a high-quality solution
• Maintain the charging technology roadmap.
• Keep track of market developments regarding charging and communications protocols.
• Contribute to establish Milence a technology leadership by representing Milence in the right forums as the Technical expert.

The job will be based in our Arnhem office.

Who are we looking for?

• Master's or PhD in electrical engineering.
• At least 3 years of experience in DC charging (and preferably in e-mobility) 
• Detailed knowledge of the charging protocols and standards (IEC61851, ISO15118, din spec 70121, OCPP, OCPi, etc.)
• Ideally, you have experience in interoperability testing, product quality assessment and testing, root cause analysis and performance monitoring, as well as with creating and executing test plans.
• Preferably, you have experience in deployment, operation and maintenance of DC chargers; in product development and management and/or with grid codes.
• Your English is excellent; any additional European language is advantageous.

We offer a comprehensive remuneration package; with on target annual incentive is 20% - with a maximum of 40%.
