NOC Specialist

As a NOC Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the performance and integrity of Milence’s network and IT infrastructure. This role demands deep technical expertise, a proactive mindset, and a passion for driving continuous improvement.


Your role

You will oversee and manage the performance of network and IT systems using advanced monitoring tools, actively identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent service disruptions. In managing incident response, you will lead the resolution of complex IT incidents, ensuring minimal downtime and operational impact, while serving as the escalation point for technical challenges, providing advanced troubleshooting and analysis.

In driving system optimization, you will lead initiatives to optimize network infrastructure, server performance, and system configurations, as well as plan and executeupgrades, patches, and migrations with a focus on maintaining service continuity. You will also automate routine NOC processes optimizing systems to enhance operational efficiency, while providing continuous feedback to development teams to drive improvements and ensure alignment with operational needs and the needs from your stakeholders

As part of your commitment to continuous improvement, you will analyze system performance data to identify trends and opportunities for enhancement, contribute to the refinement of monitoring tools and alerting systems, and maintain and improve standard operating procedures (SOPs) for the NOC.

In collaboration with other teams, you will work closely with Operations, IT, cybersecurity, and engineering teams to ensure that NOC activities are aligned with broader company objectives, providing clear and concise updates on NOC performance, incidents, and ongoing projects. Furthermore, you will ensure that all NOC activities comply with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and internal security policies, while assisting in auditing and improving security measures within the network and IT infrastructure.


This role will be based in our Arnhem office.



Job requirements

 

Who are we looking for

· We are looking for someone with a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, although equivalent experience will also be considered.

· You should have at least 5 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC), IT support, or systems administration role, with a demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex IT incidents.

· Extensive hands-on experience with network monitoring tools such as Nagios, SolarWinds, or PRTG, along with IT infrastructure management, is essential.

· You should possess a strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP, as well as IT infrastructure components like cloud services, VPNs, and firewalls.

· Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for automation purposes is required, and familiarity with ITIL processes and best practices is highly desirable.We value strong problem-solving and analytical skills, along with excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.

· Preferred certifications include CompTIA Network+, CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, and ITIL Foundation or higher
