The Company – Milence
Established in July 2022, we are dedicated to making the future of road transport fossil-free. By building and managing reliable and secure high-performance charging solutions, our mission is to support and accelerate the transition to zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles in Europe. The team is working quickly to scale up operations and network deployment.

The CTO Department
The CTO department is responsible for all technical solutions, from the grid connection down to the site facilities, including auxiliary systems. This also include development of (future) topics, like energy related services and responsibilities. This is why this department needs different experts to cover different subjects.
We are at the beginning of building a Pan-European network for electric long-haul trucking. Nothing has been set yet, all is to be discovered and build. Both the trucks and the charging solutions are still in development. However, we do know that charging electric trucks require a reliable, efficient and effective charging system, and this is key to be successful.
The CTO department works closely with the other departments within Milence to ensure we have and develop the right solutions for our portfolio. We will also be working in close alignment with different external parties to steer the market where needed and develop the best charging solutions for our network.
We are looking for someone with a technical background and deep understanding of the digital part of the e-mobility market, with a focus towards cyber-security and communication. You will provide technical guidance and support for the successful deployment of the Milence sites, as well as, leading development tracks to ensure a successful operation. Always keeping an eye out for market trends and developments, to ensure that Milence is a technological leader.
Your responsibilities will also include:
• Expert on the EV market communication protocols and standards like: ISO15118, IEC 61851, OCCP, OCPI, OPC UA, etc.
• Define and manage the data connections (e.g., requirements, solutions) for the Milence charging sites, from vehicle to backend.
• (Data) Security on charger level and data communication.
The job will be based in our Amsterdam and/or Arnhem office, where the main focus will be of our CTO department.
Who are we looking for?
We would like to recruit someone with at least 5 years of working experience in a similar job or market field.
You need to have the capabilities to work closely with external parties to have the next-generation solutions ready for the Milence to operate.
You should be familiar with common practices, (international) norms and regulations in the e-mobility communication domain.
You have a good understanding of grid connections and the energy market.
Having knowledge and experience with cybersecurity and critical infrastructure will be highly appreciated.
You are familiar to the renewable energy sector/e-mobility.
You know the energy market and the players.
Your English is excellent (and if you do not speak Dutch that is fine).
You have strong analytical skills with the ability to solve problems.

The base salary level (all in) is oriented towards 80.000 EUR; The on target annual incentive is 20% - with a maximum of 40%.
